Thanksgiving Potluck

All,

When I sent the monthly calendars to you last weekend, I had not included the Thanksgiving potluck dinner on the November schedule. I have corrected that omission. The Center Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner will take place on Monday, November 17. So attached is an updated sheet. Everyone is invited.

I asked Eva about the dining fare at the Thanksgiving meal. She said that there would be turkey and dressing and ham and all the fixings. Of course, all the fixings are brought by you folks, and, in the past years, the variety has made for a delicious Thanksgiving feast. People start gathering around 5 pm and the serving line opens around 6 pm. Of course, dominoes and table games will go on as always.

To the relief of the guys that gather at the scrub sinks after the potluck events, Leo Whitley and the RRR repairman got the commercial dishwasher back into service last Monday. It seems to be carrying the light load required of it. The dishwasher will get its real test after the Thanksgiving dinner.

Other Stuff

Your will notice in the revised December calendar, I have added the Christmas potluck dinner on December 15. That is the best-guess date for the event when I talked to Eva yesterday. She will be talking to the volunteers for the final date in the next few days. I will let you know more details as time passes.

Four folks showed up for the ASCOG sponsored Medicare Open Enrollment counselling last Monday. Anyone who wished they had taken advantage of the counselling should know that they will have another opportunity when the counselors return to the Legion Building on December 4.....  A Thursday. The meeting is intended for newly Medicare-eligible people, folks who want to change their options for the next year, and caregivers to people who are becoming eligible or might want to choose other options.

Tonight, as every Friday night, the Killin' Time band is playing their unique and wonderful brand of country music for Friday Dance Night. A great crowd of friendly folks gather for dancing and eating and visiting in a smoke-free and alcohol-free ballroom. All are welcome.

Some of you might have noticed that there was not a newspaper notice of tomorrows Indian Taco Sale. My fault. Last Sunday night I prepared and thought I sent the email to Judi Borland at the Constitution. When it didn't appear, I checked my out basket and saw that it didn't get sent. Judi told me a couple of minutes ago that she would try to have it appear tomorrow morning.

About enough for now. Review the November and December calendars <Schedules> and see which activites listed there you might want to participate in.
