4th of July
The east banks of Lake Lawtonka explode on Independence Day. The City of Lawton has designated the campgrounds as the only place approved to shoot off the products of the many tent and truck firework stands that spring up as the 4th of July approaches. Jo Ann and I were eating over at Bubba's Fillin' Station, Country Cookin' Cafe and Full Service Bait Shop...... we were eating in the cafe.... when the lady that runs the fireworks stand out in front of the gas pumps came in for a glass of Homemade Mint and Cinnamon Herbal Iced Tea. She has a cute sign announcing, "This is a Mom and POP establishment." Tami, the owner of the Country Cookin' Cafe, asked her who was watching the tent. She told Tami that Henry, her 13-year-old, was in charge. Tami asked if Henry wasn't the one who liked to play with matches. Not to worry, the fireworks lady said, she had her 9-year-old watching Henry. I went out and moved the car.
