The mission of the Wichita Mountains Area Senior Citizens Association is to provide the people of Northwest Comanche County, sixty years of age or older, a full range of nutritional, recreational, educational, and social activities to enrich and enhance their lives and their welfare. Seniors from other parts of the area are welcome to participate in our activities. The center meets at the old Stoney Point School building, which we now called The Stoney Point Center.
... Mondays: 5 pm - a full pot-luck meal with the main course prepared or arranged for by the food manager and side dishes are brought by center members... The building opens on Mondays at 1 pm with dominoes, pool, other games, library and television, and crafts until 8:30 to 9 pm.
... Tuesdays: 10 am to 4 pm - Dominoes, pool, and table games. Meal at 12 noon.
... Thursday: 10 am to 4 pm - Dominoes. Pool. Other table games. Crafts. Meal at 12 noon
Fundraisers: as required on Saturdays
Building cleaning: A member has been contracted to provide twice a month cleaning of portions of the building that build up grime, trash, or soil like floors and restrooms. Volunteers perform all other cleaning, i.e. after meals, surfaces and equipment. The need is always pressing for both cleaning and for volunteers.
To make our program really work, we need not only participants, but also volunteer activity leads and workers.
