Savanna
Savanna Return to <Poems and Stuff>
So, Savanna, my darling, you are dead. Of course, I will never forget you. As long as this tired old brain can function, I will remember your glintless brown eyes, your heavy jowls, the way you would swat my knees with your butt when you passed by me. A light has gone out in my life. You have departed Earth to reside in the realm of Idea. As our wonderful poet has said: "Nothing gold can stay."
