December 22, 2008 -- The association submitted a request for a grant to the Mc Mahon Foundation for funds to purchase the balance of the kitchen equipment

November 11, 2008 -- The association has received partial bids from three restaurant suppliers for the kitchen equipment. The kitchen floor should be finished within ten days with a new surface, ready for equipment installation. The water supply will be connected next week (awaiting drilling under a road at the fish hatchery). The sewage aeration system contract will be install within two weeks of Charley receiving the final design and go-ahead from DEQ.

October 27, 2008 -- ASCOG approved a grant for Eva to purchase the refrigerator, freezer, ice machine, dish washer, center work/prep table, and serving cabinet. Paul Fisher said that the money is available for the rest of the kitchen equipment. He further said that the Town Council, at their October meeting had approved expenditures for completing the outside of the building.

October 10, 2008 -- After our October meeting, with the help of two inmates/day-release workers, Tom Spears cleared the kitchen area, moving equipment stored there into the main meeting room. The kitchen is now ready for floor sealing and finishing.

October 8, 2008 -- Officers of the Association met for a second time with representatives of the Town Council of Medicine Park. The October 8th meeting was a follow up to the September meeting, and set goals to achieved and actions to be taken to hasten the time the Association can begin to function in the new building. )

September 16, 2008, at the September meeting of the Medicine Park Town Council meeting, Paul Fisher gave an update on the Community Center building. He said that the water service has been delayed because the ditcher had hit a large granite formation, slowing the digging. No projection on when the water line will be connected to the building. Paul said that Charley Wright has DEQ go-ahead for the building waste system. Paul did not have a projection when the contract to install the system. Tom Spears told the board that an ASCOG official had commented that "the building is not a center until there is a place to park." Paul stated that preparing the three parking areas will be no problem. He said that the town has sent a letter to Comanche County Roads asking for their assistance in clearing and paving the lots.

September 16, 2008, Paul Fisher told Tom Spears that the next meeting between the Association officers and representatives from the town council will be held at the building during the first week of October.

September 5, 2008, Association submitted the 2009 budget grant request to ASCOG. The request included our total requirements for reestablishing the seniors program for our area that lapsed in 2001.

August 29, 2008, Charley Wright sent the list of needed kitchen equipment (stove, fryer, refrigerator/freezers, work tables, sink tables, ice machines, etc) to suppliers in Oklahoma City.
